Kyrie is amazing. Dude had 3people on him, still dribbling, while at the same time looking at his teammates.

@Connor_Phillipz Yeah that is the issue with Kyrie. Trying to decide if you are better WITH or WITHOUT him. Sign-N-Trade is my recipe for the Mavs to make the Kyrie trade work

I’m not completely aware of how Kyrie acted in interviews with his other teams, but he seems really happy right now with this squad even though they haven’t been super successful yet.
6 күн бұрынI am Groot!
@EbonySeraphim Ya got a short memory it wasn't the media started that trend Uncle Drew did. Whether it was the Gaza Strip or Jan 6 its been Kyrie bringing the 'about more than just basketball' which hey all good use your platform to spread information but when it backfires that heat starts to glow quickly
5 күн бұрынEbonySeraphim +3
The problems are only there when reporters push and push for him to talk about non-basketball stuff, especially after he’s respectfully and kindly asked them to move on. In that scenario, he’s going to feel uncomfortable and possible get chippy. I think what he learned from the Nets (BS) fiasco earlier this year is how to better shut down and stonewall a reporter who stupidly pushes him to comment on non-basketball subjects he doesn’t want to engage in. He knows how to keep his composure and I’m sure will highlight the reporter’s issue more clearly to get them to no press. That or he’s better trained to “lie” with a non-informative responses, which is not how he prefers to communicate if he is choosing to do so.

This is the honeymoon phase. And Kyrie is in a contract year. What it seems now ain't what its gonna be next season. Kyrie shown us that way too often

Aside from the controversial tweet interview this is how Kyrie always is. He’s a great guy who gets a bad rap from the media because a few years ago he called them pawns. They paint him as someone that he isn’t. His teammates all like him and respect the heck out of him
6 күн бұрынFrankieProductionz +133
It’s really simple, Kyrie stays and they build around Luka and Ky from there. Defense is their main issue and if they can learn to prosper defensively, the Mavs will be just fine. They have the potential, just need to learn to execute

@Mylo the Zoo-loving Scientist Kyrie sucks in the post season swept out every year
5 күн бұрынMylo the Zoo-loving Scientist +2
It sounds good on paper, but as a Mavericks fan I just can't allow myself to assume Kyrie is going to stay. It's not a knock on the guy at all, love him as a player and love the idea of him and Luka terrorizing the league, but I don't think Dallas is where he'll want to be long-term, even if we manage to somehow make a deep run this postseason.
5 күн бұрынpete fish
Can't build around Kyrie he's leaving in free agency, Dallas bounce first round of playoffs
5 күн бұрынIts Beaker
@Justsome Jusstsome it after his fumbles this game. Plus his obviously bad injury history. I’d be surprised if he gets anything major after his current contract. Like the guy but he’s too unreliable for his price tag.

Dude is playing legendary basketball. This is The Redemption Of Kyrie Irving, the man has gone thru so much. It’s time he anchors himself into his destined role on this team, a True Team Leader, A Champion and someone who will bring glory to the city of Dallas being #2 alongside Luka Doncic. This game was the turning point, Chemistry is offically built with the same teammates that have been together for so long by not shooting it himself and dishing it out.
6 күн бұрынI am Groot!
Kyrie is a legend... Now he has a chance to prove he has learned from his mistakes and can make a team better.
6 күн бұрынJonathan Riojas +33
Kyrie balled out. Hope this isn’t just a random stop for him and he at least stays a full season. Luckily Dallas is a pretty calm media market for basketball, which hopefully makes him feel more welcomed. Just honestly hope the Luka/Kyrie duo playing together starts to fire on all four cylinders.
6 күн бұрынTony McKinney +2
Facts. Nyc media was doing way to much.
6 күн бұрынUrbanParadise +5
@Jonathan Riojas I personally don't think he wanted to leave Brooklyn because of KD but their ownership had already burnt that bridge when they still sat him all those road games last year. They tried to make an example out of him. Completely agree about the small market. I don't see them having chemistry issues long term. They are too talented and all want the same things. Time will straighten a lot of that out.

6 күн бұрынJonathan Riojas
Would love just one full season with him. You worried about the chemistry between Luka and Kai still?
6 күн бұрынJonathan Riojas
@UrbanParadise wanna believe that. But whenever I try to get positive with it, I remind myself that this is Kyrie we’re talking about. My deciding factor is really because he’s now in a small media market. Boston and Nets are HUGE when it comes to press, so I’m pulling for that he’s happy where he’s not gonna be hounded with questions that aren’t related to ball.

they should start Kyrie/Luka/Powell/Hardaway Jr/ & McGee or Morris for backup defense, & have Maxi & Bullock rotate. Having McGee & Kyrie as Championship veterans on the court will be crucial.

6 күн бұрынSensei AMA +7
McGee is too slow and Morris looks washed, JKidd likes to play small but this game he plays two bigs but the good thing mavs has 3 bigs that can defend in perimeter it means it's better to have those three in frontcourt rotation and also give Bertans a little bit of minutes coz he can really contribute on this team Powell, Kleber, Wood and little bit of Bertans Bullock, Green, and Holiday on 3pos Luka, Kyrie, and THJ on guard rotations

irving man, averaging 27 / 6 /6 on 49% / 38% / 90% this season. 3-0 when its just him and mavs too. and dropped 38pt on their heads in all fashion over the bigs double team you name it. what a joke lakers fans are, acting like they would be better without him because they had a couple wins in a row lol
6 күн бұрынLadyLove06
@Kevin Howe Are you damm kidding me???? Who has a Championship period. Where have you been, oh my bad you just started watching basketball 🏀….LOL. - Get your Boy in Shape first before you start bragging on a ball hogger, no defense playing, always crying to the refs because he forced a unnecessary shot and want to be bailed out, instead of passing to an open teammate etc. Did you see how Kyrie The General did on Friday….that’s what Luka needs to start doing as well. Don’t talk to me about a conference game with out the championship….who damm cares
5 күн бұрынKevin Howe
Kyrie has never taken a team anywhere. Luka took a g league team to th western finals last year.. just stop with th luka hate.
6 күн бұрынLadyLove06 +1
Luka can move faster once he gets in shape…he definitely has to get in shape period. I have seen him speed up the pace and he did good, but then he went back to the I am going to hog the ball for 23 seconds, not trust my teammates, give the defense time to rest and no defense. Those Guys love playing with Kyrie period. They know he has confidence in them and know they can and will make the shots period. Now the other team has to play defense on everyone and not just 1 player period.
6 күн бұрынanon +1
@jay Luka could do that but they'd have to not play him full 12 minute quarters in the first and 3rd quarter. Even then he weighs like 260lbs at 6'7, which is good for driving but need to be realistic in that he may never be that player that can get up and down the court that quick
6 күн бұрынBA +7
@jay ur right great analysis but the reason why im saying this is because of exactly what you were talking about towards the end. Luka is way too slow and their teammates react better to kyries fast pace offense. Thats why im saying that he should be the 1. But you are right he doesnt care to have the ball like that compared to other superstars. He’s pretty much a smaller version of kd. He can adapt to any team

True but we know neither are going to do that. Luka is Mr first quarter so should start and then bring Kyrie in at 7min mark and rest Luka at the 3 minute mark for 1st and 3rd quarters. Then 2nd and 4th quarters should have Luka play like Kyrie in the 4th where he starts but rests at like half way and comes back in for final 4 minutes

I have really grown to like Kyrie. I don't agree with everything he says but that's ok.
