Gotta love the good Ole racist black on black crime myth.. 😂

I feel like I have to say this anytime I see a video or a person making the comment about "black on black crime." I think it's really important to point out that it is largely a myth. And I'll explain it like this: ALL races no matter what race you are, tend to kill each other waayyy more than any other outside race. Meaning, white people kill way more white people than they kill other races. Hispanic people kill way more Hispanic people than any other race. And the same can be said for black people. Now you may ask why is this such a phenomenon in this country? And why does the media only focus on "black on black crime" when the same can be said for any race? And that's an easy explanation because the segregation lines that were drawn up decades and decades ago are still pretty much coherent in all of our cities to this day. And people still live along those segregated lines. The laws may have changed but the systematic racism that we still see In America forces marginalized groups into poverty and crime. I have respect for Charles but it does break my heart seeing black ppl carry water for that racist propaganda.

Chuck thank you so much. Gun violence is so huge and it’s such a problem in Memphis and even affected counties surrounding Shelby County. What Ja did was so insensitive to the time and the blood sweat and tears mothers have shed over the fight against gun violence.
14 күн бұрынBartholomew Greatpants +2
Gun violence is not nearly as big of a problem as you're making it seem. In fact more ppl are killed by blunt objects everyday than guns. Ya know things like fists and hammers? If the United States wouldn't include suicides and accidents in their gun violence statistics like every other single country in the world, there would be very, very little actual gun violence. Ask yourself why America is the only country in the world that counts suicides and accidents as gun violence in their stats, what narrative are they trying to push? Chucks right however because the vast majority of gun violence is being committed by the black man. So why is that? It surely isn't a gun problem. A societal problem I would think. No father's, dead or in jail, all media they consume pushes them into the streets and then inevitably dead or in jail just like their dad. Blue cities and blue politicians actually oppressing black ppl by locking up dad's and keeping mother's poor and eating out of the govt hand. There's no chance for these kids to leave these blue cities and live a normal life let alone leave the hood. It's never a gun problem. A gun is an inanimate object. It's a societal problem. Fix your community, stop glorifying hood niggas as role models and stop voting blue. This is the only way for the black communities in Chicago, baltimore, Atlanta etc to be fixed but it won't be fixed and the govt will still tread all over our second amendment rights.
8 күн бұрынLuis Yupari +1

Kenny (Kot4q) from the Through the Wire podcast had a fantastic point about Ja. There are a lot of kids in the US, especially Black kids, who are stuck in that position, and for millionaire Ja Morant to put himself in situations like this when he doesn't have to is disrespectful if not insulting to them. And I could not agree more. These kids live in neighborhoods with horrifically underfunded schools, with zero good jobs, with terrible utilities, with overwhelmed health care systems, with unsafe and overpriced housing, and with little access to fresh, affordable food. One or both of their parents likely work 50, 60+ hours a week, and they're still too poor to go to the doctor if they get sick. And in a society where your net worth and your worth as a person are seen as one and the same, these kids are stuck in an environment where the only people with any meaningful money are gang members. They get told that the only way for them to reliably put food on their table is to join an organization where willingness to commit violent crime is a prerequisite for entry. Despite the fact historically, crime rates plummet when living conditons rise, their local governments are much more focused on throwing maximum sentences at criminals than on addressing the root causes of crime, which leads to more single parent households, which leads to more poverty, which leads to higher crime rates. It is a vicious cycle, and there are millions of people, hundreds of thousands of kids, stuck in it. Utterly abandoned by the system. Ja Morant is a millionaire. Ja Morant could comfortably retire right now on the money he'll make this year alone, and he's set to make even more annually over the next 4 years. His decision to put himself adjacent to gang life is a slap in the face to every kid living in a low income, crime ridden neighborhood with no clear way out. There are thousands of kids in Memphis and the surrounding area whose lives would be changed forever by 1% of what Ja Morant makes in a year, and they have to sit there and watch him pretend to live the life that or someone they love are stuck in.
11 күн бұрынBrian Negrete +18

Its bigger than just Ja. His thing is reflective of a much bigger issue in the culture. And the responsibility is on everyone. Folks dont need to be out there killing each other. But its up to the rest of us to do little things in showing and proving to the youth that they can have a future. Lots of kids doing that sort of thing wouldn't admit it but they are depressed and desperate in their situation and see little point in living the right way. And thats sad af. We have to strengthen and solidify ourselves as a community and show folks that theres a better alternative out there.

Chuck has expressed his desire to run for Governor of Alabama for over two decades. I hope that he actually goes for it one day. He is best known for his sense of humour, but he frequently tackles subjects that truly matter. Not every wealthy person, regardless of whether you're 20 or 60, understands that having an eight or nine figure bank account carries a world of responsibility, but he speaks about this in a frank and mature manner. He also preaches about not taking the Second Amendment for granted, something very few politicians have the courage to do. The United States NEEDS this man in office.

I still don't think Ja Morant's apology was genuine. I will go back to what KG said: That actions speak louder than words.

Chuck is a true champion for life minus the NBA rings. That is more important. Only reason he didn't get a ring is because he played during the era of the great Michael Jordan. But we must take note, unlike other players in today's NBA, Barkley never attempted to link up with any other star player to get an NBA title or rings for himself. That is a genuine legacy of a true champion at heart and a champion for life.

Very good words by Charles. It's so sad about Ja. It's so sad about the black community. Rap has lead the youth astray. We must move from the "culture" of death !

“If you gonna have a gun, you have to be really really responsible with it.” Thank you, Charles! That SHOULD be obvious, but for many people it apparently isn’t.

This behaviour is unacceptable for anyone. Not just an elite pro athlete that stands to fumble a massive bag. Wish this sentiment came through more than mentions of Ja’s new contract or his endorsement deals that he could lose.

Haven’t really kept up with the situation because I thinking giving stuff like this life and publicity just adds fuel to the fire for the player and even the sick individuals in our society that glorify it. BUT ANYTIME CHUCK WEIGHS IN, I JUST GOTTA TUNE IN

I love the two points Chuck raised here First was his recognition of rise in black on black crimes, IMO this gets less attention in media because of focus on police abuse and racist driven crimes against people of color. He admits his community too has some flaws that need correcting instead of always claiming the victim. The second is you can be a progressive and still agree on some conservative viewpoints like (responsible) gun ownership. We are so polarized today that people think you must think on absolutes when it comes to political topics
